My Bio

I am in a desperate need for a creative outlet, I was recommended this site because despite its many troubles in handling sensitive topics of various natures it's still a half-way decent community for people who like to draw, sketch or--my personal favorite--write. I write fan-fics and some original works. Mostly, the fan-fics are a means to write better original works so most of them aren't necessarily the greatest but I'm sure the world will in fact continue to spin regardless.

I have any number of fandoms that I have been wanting to write for and a list of projects that only ever seems to grow longer. I am always interested in constructive criticism, both giving and receiving, so if you're interested in trading critiques on something that is written then I would be most interested in a trade. I mostly look for the red pen stuff with spelling and grammar, but then I go into characters and plot. I don't have to like something or even agree with it to understand whether or not a character is interesting or well developed or if the plot makes sense. Not everything I write will be for a bigger audience but I do look forward to getting advice for how I could make my writing better.

Thinking of starting a new group for writers.

My idea was to have a variety of writers that would submit work for the others to read and write constructive criticism for and then the favor could be returned.  It would probably work best with a small group of dedicated writers to get better pieces noticed.  I don't want it to just turn into a heap of anything and everything that was scribbled out in twenty minutes, but for actual pieces that people have poured a piece of themselves into.  I don't really know how to start a group, I think I tried to at one point but now I forget.  I would really like to cultivate my writing powers but I have been getting little to no feedback just submitti

Finals Approaching

My finals for my writing class are due this Friday.  I have to revise two pieces and resubmit them to the professor for a chance at getting an A instead of the standard B.  Given his previous commentary, I doubt that any amount of work will alter his opinion of my pieces but on the off chance he finally breaks I might just have a shot.  Here's hoping.  I want to edit "Make It Rain" and one other piece.

Just a Disgrace

So I was all pumped to take a writing class this semester, but as it turns out the whole thing was completely useless. The professor had endless praise for the worst writer in the class while tearing apart clearly superior work.It was all like some kind of tasteless joke. What's worse is that the class even supported this debacle. The students jumped on the bandwagon of infinite praise for a piece that was just utter garbage. I have effectively lost all respect for anyone in the class and my opinion of the university as a whole has taken another turn for the worst. I'm fucking sick over this. I simply can't find the words to describe adequat

Going to take another crack at getting back into my writing. I've had three different stories in my head lately not including the backlog of other projects I've wanted done for a while. I really need my brain back. Feels like I've been asleep for a while just trying to manage on auto pilot and that needs to stop.

So, my current project is to rewrite Make It Rain to be about 50k words. It's currently at nearly 11k so what I want is a ways off. I have a number of scenes I have to add to make the characters more cohesive. I figure that giving it more detail and depth couldn't hurt. Going to do some more research into things so I can get some more realism to the story as a whole.

Found some new software to get my writing more organized. This should help a little. So far I'm mainly working on revamping a few pieces I've already posted, but if I can get them fixed up then it might be easier to find my groove when I go to start something new. Would be nice to get back to my writing instead of burning away every ounce of brain power on stupid internet videos.
